RE: crankshaft mounted pump

i guess a long period of tickover is probably not good so i'll give it some more revs next time i do some wood and see if that makes the cylce time more acceptable. surely the fuel consumption will increase substantially though?

RE: crankshaft mounted pump

thanks for your info erkki. i could remake the existing hoses to fit whatever output. i think a 2 stage pump is what i need but what pump is the biggest i could attach to the crank? (and i currently run only a bit higher than tickover to process wood) i also remember reading that a power steering pu...

RE: crankshaft mounted pump

i've got a 990 selctamatic and i must admit i don't know much about the 12s or 14s.
i have a firewwood processor which i would like to improve the cycle time on so a bigger pump is what i think i need.

RE: massey harris 820d pony starting info

this poor little beast has been literally out in a field for God knows how long so im thinking it will be as bad as can be. willing to go a bit further to protect it for the first attempt at starting so after reading what you said, would you think taking the head off and cleaning the bores, which ma...

RE: adapter k919614

i guess i've got a rear mounted pump then. it's a late sixties 990 selectamatic with the filter above the axle. i haven't taken the 3 wheeled valve off yet but it looks like there would be more than 1 hole in the rear axle and the lever valve i've got has only 1 hole in the back and 1 in the side wh...

RE: massey harris 820d pony starting info

ok i've found some good info in the above engine. at a site called vieilles.soupapes.free.fr

i hope posting that is allowed, if not then apologies to all.

i would still love to know any tips for restarting a long unused engine to avoid causing damage if anyone has any tips.

thanks,

john.

adapter k919614

hi all,

my old 990 has the 3 wheeled valve and i have got hold of a 3 way lever valve to replace it only problem is that it seems that something is missing. on the left there is an orifice which appears to need adapter k919614 to make it useable. have i bought a dud or is it still useable as it is?

thanks for the info guys, i will follow your instructions forthwith. i've registered a few vehicles over here and it is a bit of a tiresome process but as long as you've got all 17 bits of paperwork that they require then it's ok. you take everything to the prefecture, hand over some money and walk ...
