Barry, not sure but the Petrol/TVO`s had a low slung box set low down that had the battery sat in the carrier itself (6v), the diesels had a higher set battery mounting box where the battery sat on top of the carrier with a metal lid on top but a wooden (dovetailed) wooded box surrounding the batter...

I`ll add to cash 1594`s point - another great day and the weather cleared (well after the first 30 mins anyway!!). Didn`t see the parts bit but the memorabilia/brochure section offered at the Meltham auctions just seems to get better every time - very well pleased with my additions (some rare early ...

Interesting one this - as a car man at heart I`ve come across various auto boxes with various levels of power loss (the old fluid torque convertor) some worse and better than others, auto boxes always seem to be over-revving in nature Driving a 1394 Hydro towing the cars off track at the Stock car m...

Gerard, the 6 cylinder engines can be slow starters and smoke alarmingly for the first 2/3 minutes - not all do, but some do - it tends to be the nature of the engines I`m afraid so tend to agree with olleks point. If you can get something on you tube perhaps some may be able to comment - not knowin...

To be fair mistermcgregor (and I didn`t want to re-start this) but I think its to do with inorganic compounds or something like that - there are bits on Google and the car forums about putting newer style anti-freeze in cast iron blocks and to be honest I wouldn`t put it in my Cropmaster and 990 - t...

Barry,
have mine at about 50% mix which is probably overkill to be honest in the UK climate but I use the theory that they are still making antifreeze but they stopped making Cropmaster engine blocks a long time ago :D

vuk, assuming you haven`t done anything yet - measure the distance between the top of the wheel rim (steel rim not tyre) to the steering hub (on the wheel with damaged tyre), then swop the wheels over from the other side and measure the same this will determine whether the offset is wrong, ie if the...

The ply rating is the strength (old style) of the tyre isn't it???. Didn`t think it made any difference to tyre width.

I think they were stickering them up with anything to just shift them at the end - I`m sure they`d have put `John Deere` badges on them if they could have got away with it

Hi, Something like a Lion `027` (half decent budget battery) which is 60ah and about 500 cca should be ok (see link) - assuming she`s a relatively easy starter. Its a battery that is the size that you would have to start a 2.0HDI Berlingo van!!. If you go to a motor factors just check the size as PR...
