I have had a top link attached as the second stabiliser on a 1490. Needed to make a bracket to attach the link below the axle. Tractor is used with topper and rotavator.

Would start by dropping the oil out of everything that has oil in it.Including the rear hubs. The hand brake has the actuator going into the rear hubs and will benefit from a squirt of oil on them. Temperature guage can be checked by earthing the wire to the engine block with the ignition on. If it ...

RE: Re: RE: 1210/1490 power steering pump, oil breather vent

Once you have sorted the correct oil for the pump! Replace the small diameter breather pipe from the pump with a larger bore tube thos will reduce the "jetting effect" that you get with the smaller diameter tube.If I remember correctly 10mm tube should fit the pump breather spigot

If the pipe(34)is crimped or blocked then you will get pressure from the oil warming up. the pipe can be replaced with flexible tubing. would fit tubing of larger diameter than you currently have. 8mm internal. This will give enough room for the oil to move when going from lock to lock.

Try a local hydraulic supplier. Not sure on this type of ram but some only have a seal where the piston shaft enters the tube.

RE: 1490 heavy smoke

Thought they all smoke a bit or a lot. Our 1490 does the same thing doesn't use oil Fuel usage is frugal. What is making it more noticable is the cold weather. Got a big lump of metal to warm up. On the odd day when the temperature has got above freezing it's not as bad.
