Radiator flap catch

Where can I get chrome catch for radiator flap on 990? I can get flap easily, catch is a bit more tricky! Also, need complete stopper for 990

RE: 1st time clutch/pressure plate change-out..HELP!

Hi there, it can be done without splitting, but means much more work. Only about 10 bolts I think holding tractor together, really quite simple.

RE: 1394 Exhaust leak

My 1394 did that for ages, tried everything then made a shim for each end out of a bean tin, is fine now!

RE: case 1594 headaches

Sounds like you should stop using it til you get engine sorted out. Looks like you need to do full re-build, especially new oil pump!

RE: David Brown - Case - 1494 Draft Control

Sounds to me like dump valve may be sticking? Try again with transport box, make sure dump valve is full down (closed)

Our1394 front axle gave trouble, but never bent, stub axles breaking was main problem. In my book if you want a cheap tractor and loader a 996 is far better than 1390 because loader sits closer, axle is under less strain. The LF9 on 996 is stronger than gd90 also because of big offset on gd90, ours ...

I would have to say the 996 is my all time favourite, 'old faithful' our 996 has never failed to provide excellent service and stood in on silage harvester many years ago wen 1412 gave up. Still goes perfectly now after 38 years and around 10000 hours

You're gonna have totals right hand diesel tank off and disconnect cable to check how free it is. Have you checked lever itself is free etc?

6-pot cranks

It's not the crank that causes the damage, it's the oil pump stripping gears and then wrecking crank. 1594's gave a lot more trouble than 1690's and 1694's for some reason. Think i remember being told by db mechanic that 15 had cast gears while 16 had steel. Either way, it's end of story if crank ge...

baler nonsense

We've had them all, b46, 47 and 430. they all gave endless trouble wih knotters, pickups and anything else they found fit to break. Have also used bamford, massey and new holland balers with no great success. Then, about 17 years ago we bought a john deere 342 and that was the end of the trouble wit...
