Re: 995 Hydraulics

Thanks for the help guys. I must take the pipe off a parts tractor first so this will give me some practice. As the parts tractor is already partially dismantled (engine removed) I am wondering if I were the split it between the rear axle and gearbox would this possibly give me sufficient access? Po...

Re: 995 Hydraulics

Hi all, finally got around to tackling this problem. I removed the pto unit, pump and support plate to gain access to inspect the hydraulic pipes. I noticed a pipe is cracked in behind the differential. I am wondering how to take this pipe off. I presume I must remove both differentials and possibly...

Re: 990 Cylinder Head

Hi all just thought I would bring this to an end. Have replaced the cylinder head and got the tractor running again. I also had to replace the water pump as stated. I have attached some pictures of the cracked cylinder head. Thanks to all who helped.

Re: 990 Cylinder Head

Got a picture of the ‘block’ below the alternator it appears to be blank! Although towards the circle there seems to be two overlapping zeros.

Re: 990 Cylinder Head

I do not have access to the tractor until the weekend but I do know that the serial number is 990A/489166 which suggests it is an early one. I know what you are saying about the water pumps. As seen in the picture above the connection is a short rubber pipe. If I understand correctly I may need to s...

Re: 990 Cylinder Head

Thanks for the replies. Sorry about the cast numbers. I believe the engine in the 990 is an AD4/49 so the question is will a head from an AD4/55 engine be a straight swap?
Thanks.

990 Cylinder Head

Hi all, I have acquired a 990 selectamatic with a victor cab. When I got it the engine was weather seized. Having free'd the engine and got the tractor running the next task is to replace the cracked cylinder head (see picture). The current cylinder heads part number is F906760 from what I can make ...

Re: 995 Hydraulics

Thank you for the reply, I have temporarily replaced the dump valve with a cap so that rules that out. The O-rings at the front of the valve chest seemed to be okay when I had it out. The links do not drop when the 3 way valve is all the way to the left so would that suggest that the lift cylinder i...

995 Hydraulics

Hi all, I am experiencing a problem with the hydraulics on my 995. I got the tractor as a non runner but when I got it running I noticed that the rear links would go up and down as they should but when weight is applied they would drop.’Hiccuping’ could also be seen. A pto gear was badly damaged so ...
