Re: Bonnet chin

Thanks all.

I bought the chin off Ken Jarvis. I am going to the body shop tomorrow so I shall have a look at report back.

Bonnet chin

Hi all
Has anyone got any pictures of the bonnet chin on a 780?

Mine didn't have one when i acquired the tractor, we are just in the process of attaching the new one but it looks too wide.

Any photos or info would be greatly received.

780 brake pedal springs

Hi all

Did the 780 have springs to keep the pedals back? I have fitted new fotoplates and they seem to have little tabs for springs? Just wanted to know because my left brake doesn’t slip back into the “off” position like the right does.

David brown 780 Scraper tractor to Wedding transport

Evening all, I have been posting on the forum for a while now. I think its about time i started a new thread with pictures documenting it progress. So, we inherited this 780 from my partners grandfather. Having done some tractor restoration in the past i jokingly said that the 780 would be fantastic...

Re: Break pedal removal.

Break pedals have now been removed along with the foot plates.

What an almighty job it was to get those drift pins / roll pins out!

All done and dusted. Thanks for your help gents. My aim is to get a topic started in the restoration section.

Re: Break pedal removal.

Thanks for that.

I’ve got Oxy, it took an age to get them free from each other.

I did have a look yesterday but can’t see the circlip. Will post a pic after. H

Re: Break pedal removal.

i have just done mine on an 880, sadly there is no corners to cut, soak in diesel, or mollass, use heat and tap whilst warm to ease pedals clean up with sander and emery cloth and refit! Joe thanks for this. Do they have pins holding them in that need to be removed first? Did you have to remove any...

Re: Break pedal removal.

Thanks for this.

I have yet to have a proper look under the tractor.

Looking at the online parts catalogue it shows a circlip. I will have a look in person and report back

We had ours on the right hand side of the dash. It was a stretch but you get used to it.

Break pedal removal.

Evening all, the time has come to replace the awful foot plates on the 780. Looks like they have to drop down with the pedals and cross shaft? My question is how do you remove the pedals from the shaft? Mine were seized so I have had gas and bars on them to free them up. Any suggestions more than we...

Re: 780 replacement panel woes...

Thanks for this. Sadly the condition I received the tractor was rather terrible. It didn’t have a grill. I am in the process of sourcing one and will 100% take your comments in mind. Thankyou! Tractor was originally bought brand new by the brides grandfather. The plan is for it to transport the newl...

Re: Gear Lever Rubber Boots

One of mine came undone and the other was stuck fast.

I ended up putting a little washing up liquid over the gear knob and slid the boot over the whole lot. Mine (cheap of eBay) fit well but don’t stay on when you change gear. Just for reference.
