Re: Selectamatic 990

Hi db2d, I asked a moderator to remove the duplicate as it was above my technical skill level, but I heard nothing back? Do you know how I delete it? Also the point I was making was a good quality set of vice grips shares the load on the stop tang. Cheers rich

Re: Selectamatic 990

Hi David, I removed the backnut today , not too bad , easing oil for a couple days but the best tip is to let the throttle round to its stop on column but also put a good quality set of vice grips directly under the nut on the shaft thus halving the force on the shaft stop tang it feels much more po...

Selectamatic 990

Hi , I’m hoping to overhaul my dash panel and clocks at Christmas and doing some investigation the back nut on the throttle stem appears tighter than the stem could cope with. I’m guessing easing oil over the next week and a little heat will help , oh and patients🙂. Anything else I need to know woul...

Re: 880 hydraulic oil pickup problem

Hi Kev, I’m currently on the same issue, with help from this forum, I replaced the suction o ring at pump end with a 3.5 mm section o ring . The actual dB part is something like 3.62mm and as I haven’t cured the problem I’m shortly going to fit correct dB recommendation.i may also replace the oil se...

Re: Registering 880 with dvla

Hi Ian , yes I did give dvla the chassis number and engine number and the reg number but was unsure of the first digit as the tax disc was stained with diesel but I must of had mr grumpy . I think I know the first digit now so perhaps I will try again. Cheers rich

Re: Registering 880 with dvla

. Cheers philedge, I studied the diesel soaked tax disc like columbo last evening and I am 99% confident the reg is NLJ 808F the LJ being the last two letters of a three letter prefix make sense as it’s a Bournemouth code and I’m 30 miles west in Weymouth. It’s from 1990 and we forget how complicate...

Registering 880 with dvla

Hi, I am having problems with acquiring a reg plate for my 880 , I have given the dvla my chassis number (880a547 995) and the engine number (ad3 17525 55a) and a half guessed registration number from a very diesel soaked tax disc from the 1990s . It appears to read DLJ 808F. It’s the DL at the begi...
