If you have the engine and chassis numbers you could apply by using form V62 and leave the reg no blank if the details are still on the dvla database you will get the origanal number if not you will have to go down the lines of a age related reg after applying to the club for proof of year of manufa...

And to update this I have now found the reduction stamp on the hub it is very difficult to see it's fitted with the fast reductions hence why it will clock around 20 mph on 18.4x34s

I have a fairly early 1690 here in the UK fitted with 24" fronts and 34" rears with tires 13.6x12x24 and 18.4x15x 34 fitted and this is correct by the operators manual I have no idea what the reductions are as the plate is missing

I met up with Tom shortly before he crossed the border between Scotland and England on Tuesday I must of spent about 40 mins talking to him about tractors and things in general I hope oldred and Tom complete the trip for a worthy cause

Just as a note to anyone Reding this the pressure relief valve on a 1690 is set at 55 psi I have a gauge fitted and was getting 55 to 60 psi cold dropping to 50 psi hot at 1800 revs I suddenly noticed a drop in pressure of around 10 to 15 psi on inspection I found one of the screws missing on the up...

The dvla system will find the old reg no from the chassis no if it has been previously registered i have just been through all this due to buying a tractor with no V5 or reg no a friend allso checked the details via hpi as he is registerd as a profesional user and it came up with even more infomatio...

Yes it can be done but the biggest problem is finding the parts I believe the valve is still available but unless you can find the other parts on a bracket tractor the need making up specialy there has just been a thread about it on one of the David Brown face book pages

Yes it's a brilliant in depth article and very interesting I even contacted the editor to tell him so and was told that it was the sale of the 1690 at the Norfolk sale that made home diside that he wanted to run a special on the 1690 in the February issue

The side cladding is available from quite a few places vapromatic stockists and I think both sparex and Barkley Williams have it but I have not seen the roof cladding Barkley Williams does look to have a more comprehensive range though
