A fellow from Netherlands claims to have seen a swap the other way, from 4 to 6.

with a change of the shafts

more specifically
would a 4 cylinder DB bolt up to the trans housing and with the clutch fit the shaft?
Or is a 1490 not the same animal

It is showing 6311 hours but the tach was not operating when I got it

Yes I realize that either may have been the culprit for the piston damage. I have spent thousands at this point on a new kit, injectors, clutch, and machine work. I would like to rely on the best of oil pump service regardless of what caused this mayhem to the pistons in the first place. Is their a ...

No turbo, you have any lying about? Its only rated at 95 hp or so 90 at the pto. I've forgotten. Had A/C but I pulled it off. I run with the doors off to keep from breaking the glass out as it is a mowing tractor. I would like a new oil pump but have not located one, thanks for the tip.! My thoughts...
