Beware 1412 exhaust on ebay

Hi, I recently purchased a new exhaust for my 1412 off ebay. It duly arrived and I was quite impressed with the quality and finish. As I usually do,I gave it several extra coats of paint and once dried fitted it to the 1412.Initially I was impressed by the silencing properties but after a few gentle...

Re: A couple of David Browns

Hi, The 25D is interesting, the twin wheels are not unique, in the1950s Bertram Mills Circus used twin wheeled 25Ds for hauling heavy wagons around the various fields where mud and soft ground could be an issue and also to "pull up" the Big Top. They were coloured in mid-green and red. As I was only...

Re: Removing the 1412 steering wheel

Hi, success!! Have removed the steering wheel using DB780s suggestion as I had one of the pullers he described in one of my tool boxes. It's great that folks are happy to share their expertise, it saves so much time and swearing.Again many thanks......................starider :D

Re: Removing the 1412 steering wheel

Hi,thank you all for the advice, will have a go this week and let you know which method works for me. The steering wheel is the dished plastic covered type and the plastic has cracked where the spokes meet the boss, I assume the method strapping the puller legs to the spokes will be OK?................

Removing the 1412 steering wheel

Hi, I need to remove the steering wheel on my 1412 to check wiring loom and to re-finish the dash board. I've removed the nut, soaked well with WD40, put the nut back on loosely and tried a few sharp knocks from underneath the boss.So far to no avail. Before I get more vicious, any ideas please?.........

Re: Wiper wheel box 1412

Hi Rich,
Is it the wheel box you have? i.e.part that goes through the cab and the wiper arm bolts onto the outer spindle, the inner end has a large gear driven be a cable from the wiper motor.. If the part you have is as described I would be interested.
Thanks...........................starider :)

Re: Wiper wheel box 1412

Hi, not sure if the same.Mine has had the shaft[6mm / 1/4" Dia], which the wiper arm clamps onto, broken off, so an arm can't be fitted. The gear wheel is 44mm / 1 3/4" Dia and the shaft needs to be at least 70mm long. Many thanks.............................starider :)
