Re: 1965 David Brown 880UE Implematic, how to prime transmission hydraulic pump?

Looking at your picture, it kooks like the Idler gear is not contacting the pump gear. The idler gear has a bearing in the center off it that may have failed, you will have to remove the PTO housing again, to see what's going on inside you asked if the Transmission would get enough lube by splash fr...

That PTO shaft looks good to me a little wear on the splines wont hurt it, if it's the end that you are concerned about that's where the shaft has been machined down to fit into the pilot bearing that's normal,

Re: DB 990A Implematic Hydraulics Not Working

Now that you have taken some of the water out off the Transmission, visit your local Hardware store & pick/up a "L" off Metheal Hydrate and dump about 50% off it into the Transmission, it will help to dissolve some of the remaining water & keep it Freezing, it wont hurt anything. I know that it gets...

Re: 990 steering problems, where do I start?

Hi Kipps;
There is no need to remove the timing cover, just the two pipes & the two bolts that hold the Pump in place,

Re: 1965 David Brown 880UE Implematic, how to prime transmission hydraulic pump?

Check to see if your 3 way valve is in the correct position, It has 4 positions 1- 2 - L & L/1 # 1 is next to your L/H Fender you should have it in the third position from the Fender (L for linkage) On top off the PTO Housing their should be a plug with a square hole, remove this plug, when you do, ...

Re: DB996 Query

I have a 1967, 770A that's painted Orchid white & i also have 1979 885 & It's painted Case Power white Part # B17655N,
Maybe It's only North America that have the Power White, the 885 is original and has never been repainted.

When CASE changed the DB colors from Brown & Orchid White to Case Power Red they also changed the Orchid White to CASE Power White.

Hi gwatts; your local CASE/IH Dealer should have the Tool required to install this Seal, I would check with them first,
as Alan3 said It only takes approx 1.5Hr to complete the job,

Re: Case/David Brown 990 selectamatic mystery part

Where the Valve Chest (Control Valve) is bolted to the ramshaft bracket there is two dowels, one bolt & two Nuts used, to secure the Valve Chest to the ramshaft bracket, I'm guessing that may be one of these dowels,

Re: By-pass valve removal tip

What's wrong with removing the brass plug from inside the By-Pass-Valve then screw a 3/8 UNC bolt into the Valve & with a good flat washer & a 3/8 UNC Nut make yourself a simple puller, it works for me everytime,

Re: 885 Loader Operation with Going-Away Valve

For now just add a extra Gal or two of Hyd fluid to the Transmission/Hydraulics, this will solve your problem until you have the time to fix it
