Re: 94' series 4wd components the same?

The 1594 was sold here with 4wd also. I almost bought one last year but the seller did not know if the hydra-shift worked correctly or not so I never wasted my time on looking at it. I have another question ; is the rear frame/diff the same on a 1494 ? The transmission section is , according to the ...

Re: 94' series 4wd components the same?

I was planning to use the entire trans from 4x4 doaner . Also it appears that the syncromesh trans has the splines cut in it as there is no different part for 2wd or 4wd only on powershift models are there 2 different part numbers ?

Re: 94' series 4wd components the same?

Well at least the transmission parts and axle assemblies are the same, all I need is the front frame section and oil pan for the 1594. I'm going to call some salvage joints and see if they might have some parts. It will cost around $12k for an entire 4x4 tractor with out a cab... so parts may be a b...

Re: Hydraulics!!

Could it be- the linkage was removed and re-installed backwards ? (External 3 point lift linkage from lever to control at transmission housing) ?

Re: 94' series 4wd components the same?

It appears the main frame components are different all the way through the tractor..
I guess I will need to find an entire rolling chassis ...
Better yet, I think I will swap it out for a newer 5240...

94' series 4wd components the same?

I want to convert my 1594 2wd to 4wd . Is this possible by changing out the front axle carrier/ nose and adding transfer box or do I need to swap out the entire transmission housing as well?
Will, say a 1494 nose and axle fit the 1594 frame/ engine housing?

Re: 1594 hazard lights switch wiring?

On my tractor I installed a hazzard switch and 2 heavy duty flashers, one for each side . As the original unit would work only when it felt like working and the oem unit was way too pricey for me! I think I have maybe $15 in it total . It is very simple to do, just tight getting the extra cubes in t...

Re: 1594 Hydra starting problems - smoke but no fire.

Electric Fuel pump is before mechanical unit. It comes on with key and stays on until key is turned off . Had to add a relay so it stayed on while cranking with a heavy duty diode in line to arrest back feed voltage that could keep the starter engaged. Even with all the improvements it will still st...

Re: 1594 Hydra starting problems - smoke but no fire.

The tractor is old and has been put away wet, If its that reluctant to start normally hit it with the ether! Just be sure its turning before spraying at the air intake. If it were a new or good fresh engine I would not spray it, but seeing its old and questionable... ABSOLUTELY PUT AN ELECTRIC FUEL ...

Re: 1594 Hydra starting problems - smoke but no fire.

That seems like pretty decent pressure for an old design injector but definitely not out of the question. Todays modern diesels are running 20-30 thousand psi or 1300-2100 atmospheres! Dangerous stuff if you spring a leak! But boy are they nice to tune if you know what your doing!

Re: DB885 Starting Difficulties

If your engine sounds crisp like a clap on acceleration then all is good it should be crisp and snappy off idle ! That is the sound of good compression at work! You want it to be lively not lazy. I have a Shibirua built NewHolland 2120 that is lazy! I hate the thing but my dad loves it so we keep it...

Re: DB885 Starting Difficulties

Well I think the Thermo-start can be ruled out for causing a surge, I tried it this morning. Mine work perfectly so I thought I would see if it makes a difference. Did not make even the slightest difference once the engine was running and mine has 2 of them because its a 1594 . So your surge may inf...

Re: DB885 Starting Difficulties

So what happens if the thermo-start valve is actuated while the engine is running at or near normal operating temps? Will the extra fuel increase engine speed? Or just make it smoke a bit more? I never tried this but might have to, too see what happens? If it does cause the engine to speed up then y...
