Re: 1967 990 engine block

if you buy another block make sure it is the right one, AD/47 or AD/49, I suspect yours is probably a AD/47 but just check the engine number

I have seen the same kit on ebay for about the...

Re: Confused by warning lights.

I have seen this before on a 990, It turned out that someone had put a brake light switch on instead of a oil pressure switch, new switch soon sorted it

Re: DB885 Starting Difficulties

am I missing something here, I only see temp gauge and fuel gauge in the video, no ammeter. I think I would swap the battery with a known good one just to see if it is the battery.

Re: Where Does David Brown Rank?

to get back to the original post, DB was ranked between 3rd and 4th in the UK sales. Ford and MF had about 50% of the sales, DB, IH, Leyland and Zeter had the lion's share of the rest of the market until John Deere and some of the European's started to make inroad's into the market and it did not ta...

Re: 1594 Hydra starting problems - smoke but no fire.

you mention you put a new starter motor on it, did it start ok before you had to put a new starter on it, I only ask because my cousin bought a IH 885 and would never start, it took some finding but someone had put a 24 volt starter on it.

Re: 1594 Hydra starting problems - smoke but no fire.

if it has problem's starting in 80 degree's something seriously wrong with it, time for a compression test, if compression is ok it's an injector pump problem

1394's in the UK came with an assister ram so the 1/L would be used for the linkage

Re: steering ram

The ram is leaking out of the front ball joint so I don't have to pull the rod out, I did pull one apart many year's ago but cannot remember if they have round section O ring's or square section ring's.
