Another thing to try before you try and start the 1490 is - disconnect the plug going into the altenator. The reason for this is if the brushes in the altenator are grounded they will be drawing a fair load from the battery which means the full power from the battery wont be going to the starter. I ...

Ok, when I had my 1390 it was a rod that opened the pick up hitch latch.I never seen that setup on a 1390 before - thanks for your reply.

Silver Paint for wheel rims

I'm going to paint the wheel rims on my case ih 1494.Whats the best paint to use for the rims , i'm going to paint them with a brush. I was thinking of using a silver hammerite paint would this be ok? Or could someone recommend a better type of paint - to cover a few rust spots ( not much rust) and ...

I replaced the gasket but the pump was still leaking - it turned out it was leaking from the throttle shaft.
I fitted a new throttle shaft and no more leaks. :)
