CASE 1690 engine oil pressure reading

I recently installed an oil pressure gage in the cab of my 1690 because I wanted to monitor the oil pressure closely. I read approximately 40 PSI. Is that where it should be? The weird thing is that I get about 40 PSI (45 at the most) when the engine is cold and it seems to stay the same (maybe a li...

Case/David Brown 1690 reliable tractor?

Recently purchased a case 1690 for snow blowing during winter and for some field work during summer. Don't think it will ever work more than 100 hours per year. Unfortunately, I read a lot of negative comments on those tractors on other forums and now I'm a little worried about my purchase. What is ...

RE: CASE 1690 Internal leak in hydraulic system

What is the automatic bleed valve? Would it be what they call the air relief valve in the shop manual?

CASE 1690 Internal leak in hydraulic system

My three point hitch recently failed to hold a heavy load so I pulled out the cylinder sleeve and replaced all the "O" rings that are part of the rockshaft cylinder assembly. I also replaced all the "O" rings on the dump valve. Now my three point hitch will hold a heavy load no problem and it will s...

CASE 1690 - Replacing o rings on the rockshaft cylinder

My 3 point hitch will lift normally but then surge and lower down pretty quick when I lift a heavy implement. You can also hear a fairly obvious hissing sound which tells me I definitely have an internal leak. I suspect I have to replace the piston ring on the lift cylinder. Does anyone have experie...

I tried that, it will stay to full height for a couple minutes but then slowly start to go down. I think I will have to replace O rings on the cylinder that activates the rockshaft arm.

Case 1690 4x4 three point hitch will not hold its position

I just bought a 92 inch snowblower double auger for my case 1690. The snowblower is about 2000 lbs and it seems that my three point hitch is struggling to keep it up. After a minute or two, the hitch will slowly go down. When I rev up the engine a litle bit, it brings it back up but then it goes dow...

RE: Case 1690 3 point hitch wont stay all the way down

THANK YOU OLLEK, i have looked for that nyloc nut, but only see the two jam nuts on the friction disk. that is fine. the raise lower lever stays where you put it except for the very last bit of travel at lowest position. you can force the lever down, but as soon as you release the lever the hitch ra...

Case 1690 3 point hitch wont stay all the way down

hello, I have a 1690 case 4x4 tractor and the hitch is giving me problems. when I force the lever all the way down, the hitch goes all the way down. when i release the lever the hitch comes up a third of the way on its own. the lever wont stay all the way down unless i hold it down against the sprin...
