Re: 1200 crankshaft concerns

With high torque loadings i would use low on pto and higher motor RVS to get around 540 rpm much easier on the motor and 1200s dont mind higher rvs.

Re: DB 1200 hydraulics

Hi was the drag link socket a good fit in the slot at first, tightening then loosening sometimes works, usual bar on socket should un do them easily, maybe a air rattle gun but the risk of tearing out the slot is high, otherwise the whole valve chest mat have to come out to get them, no easy answer ...

Re: Solex-30FV

Hi the parts book says nylon washers for the shaft end seals so could be worth a try, some good searches for Solex carbs -- Solex Carburetor David Brown and Solex Carburetor Jets on Google search, there are a large number of Solex carbs and your inlet needle valve may have come from another Solex. c...

Re: Solex-30FV

Hi cobbadog i havnt come across the clip in the photo in the years of working on them, also three old parts manuals dont show it, sometimes there is a thicker washer or even two to alter pressure on the float valve to suit, the float valves if dirty or not working correctly can sometimes be improved...

Re: 90 series power steering problem

Have always used trans oil in the power steer but ran out so used engine oil and was much better smoother and less noise and as noted safer if you get a leak to engine.

Re: Engine Oil Filters.

Hi baron beeza the sealing washer on the 30120 is fine for the bottom just needs the extra sealing washer at the top to the lid, while dismantling the old screw on filters i came across the non return washers which are a near perfect fit for top of 30120 filter to the lid, you should have just a lit...
