1690t injection pump

Was checking out an apparent miss cracked open injector nuts and found back one was getting no fuel, removed cover on injection pump and found spring on that element was loose not broken and therefore not pumping, would think there is a problem with the roller lifter- its pin -or the operating cam, ...

Re: Turbo Exhaust

Hi keeping the packing there would be my concern maybe the stainless clip over the packing, the new ring appears to be cast iron to match the manofolds, i wonder what DB used to seal it or was it just a correct fit, if the front manofold was bolts not studs fitting up would be much easier, what have...

Re: Turbo Exhaust

Hi Jim is that packing similar to pump gland packing or more high temperature, my manofold has been leaking for years so faces will be poor, i seem to remember someone machining their own connecting ring to take up wear and stop leaking. I put a stainless hose clip around to stop some of the leaking...

Turbo Exhaust

What have others found is the best way to install a new sealing ring on turbo exhaust manofolds, if the front half was on bolts not studs it would be easy but looks like both manofolds would have to be removed to install the new sealing ring and most likely not to be a tight fit then?

Re: Alternative Replacement Service Parts.

Came across an article in Classic Tractor magazine February page 81 on Jeremy Fearn who has new 6 cylinder manofolds and would know turbos to fit, i noted he had 110 hp at pto on a 1494 and is working on a 1594 to get 170 hp, so standard setups should be no problem. The other stuff he makes is usefu...

Re: Inherited 25D w/ bad starter

Hi in the second picture the commuter --the round part the carbon brushes contact looks worn and needs a clean up and most likely a new set of brushes, there several tests on windings ect while it is apart. If you are not familar doing this find an auto electrician who can refresh the starter.

Re: Tyre Swap

Hi bedwards comments on tyre removal are correct, the wheel must be on the tractor for ease of removal so you can ajust the height to get tyre and bead in right position for removal and fitting and can let it down a bit to get some more water out. All the mobile tyre guys here do it on tractor and b...

Re: RE: 1690 V's 1690 Turbo

Back to john in above thread, i have read of several 1594s being turbod as i understand it they already have the steel top ring insert for turbo so only the turbo return pipe connection needs to be done, But 6 cylinder original turbos are the problem unless you happen to get a complete manofold and ...

Re: Witch david brown engine have i got

The power shift trans for the Maxxum was developed by DB for the next model DB but ended up in the Maxxum when DB closed, nothing to do with Case USA.

Re: Witch david brown engine have i got

As i understand it some of the backhoes were DB powered as are bedwards Case traxcavators, little seems to be known about the fitting of the engines probably an agreement between DB and Case for UK and Europe . The configeration of the engine will clearly show if its DB or Case, look at pictures of ...
