Unfortunately this tractor didn't have a cable at all. It had been removed when I purchased it. I misspoke when I said that it was broken. Good job really, because if you had changed the inner cable only, you would find that it wore out much quicker. Always change inner cable and outer sheathe toge...

Some quick answers... The Dipstick is for the hydraulics, which share the same oil as the Gearbox. DB Hydraulics are sensitive to dirt, cleanliness is extremly important, drain the milky rubbish out, put clean in, also change filters, do not try to clean them. Dont do too much Crash box shifting, th...

Hello David! Hope all is well? As fas as I know, others may know better 1690T vs the others... Engine - different, as you know. 4WD - Identical to 1690, different to the 94 Series, and the smaller 1490 etc Clutch - Something tells me its unique, but I cant prove this... Gearbox - Identical to the Sy...

If wirewool is softer metal than the valves, and it does not abrade the valve, there is little point in using it at all.

I agree with Mister McGregor, keep wirewool away from sensitive hydraulic parts.

RE: Cylinder Head gasket for a AD4/47A in a DB990

Check both the head and block face for warping, if i remember its a maximum of 3 thou in any 6 ins? Give the faces a good clean before rebuilding. The Repair Manual recommends a product called 'Wellseal' which is available online, ebay etc. If you use some selant other than wellseal, make sure its t...

Ebay Warning!

Evening All, It might be because I look more at David Brown Tractors than other marques on ebay, but in the last month or so, the number of scam and dodgy looking tractors for sale has shot up! Often pictures of tidy or desirable DB's, 1690T's Super Cropmasters, Tidy 990's etc etc, which look famili...

RE: loader for 1210

Im fairly sure they are not. I think the loaders themselves are different widths?

What cab parts do you mean, the 90 series cab is totally different to what would be fitted to your 1210...
