Re: David Brown/Case 995 Starting Problem

Ollek - thank you again for some very helpful advice. I went to remove all the cables from the solenoid, starter motor and battery to clean the contacts thoroughly as you suggested. Went I started to loosen a nut from one of the solenoid poles I found that I could not remove it fully as either the t...

David Brown/Case 995 Starting Problem

For the past few weeks when I turn the ignition key I sometimes get a click sound but the starter motor doesn't crank. I then turn the key a few times and the engine turns. This has been getting much worse in the last week and I sometimes have to turn the key 15 - 20 times. I've tightened all the le...

I have a 1979 David Drown/Case 995 Tractor with a Girling 73670053 Brake Slave Cylinder both of which are leaking badly. Does anyone know what type of repair kit I need and where I could buy a couple? Many Thanks.

RE: Charging problem - DB (Case) 995

Thanks for all the advice. I re-ran the test of the on the smaller lead which carries the "exciter" current to the alternator and this time the "Charging" warning light came on as it should. I suspect that now means that the alternator needs to be replaced.

Charging problem - DB (Case) 995

My alternator is no longer charging the battery. The warning light came on for a long period when the tractor was running and eventually went off. It now won't come on when the ignition is switched on. A multi-meter test shows that when the engine's running the battery voltage is only 12 - 13v. The ...

Overheating 995

I wonder if anyone can help? My newly bought 995 appears to be overheating and I'm trying to trace the fault. After about 15 mins the gauge goes into the red. I've removed the filler cap and whilst the radiator heats up the water remains hand hot. The fan belt is tight enough and the water pump rev...
