Re: 1200 Hydraulic Issues
Thank you for your reply. On my 880 Selectamatic I can hear the pump relief valve blowing off when the quadrant lever is fully back against the spring, and I can then pull the lift latch upwards and release the links, but there’s no such sound on this 1200, and the lift latch will not not return to ...

1200 Hydraulic Issues
Having recently acquired a 1968 1200, I need to sort the non-working hydraulics. The arms are in a lifted position and the lift latch appears jammed/seized with the lever pointing at ‘nine o’clock’. When moving the quadrant lever fully forward and fully rearward, even into ‘Select’ there is no respo...

Re: 1200 Cab - Original?
Thank you for your help!
My 1200 has serial no. 1200A 705615, so I believe it was made in 1968.
Therefore, it’s very likely that this Victor cab was fitted later and is not original to the tractor.
I expect I’ll have trouble finding wings though...
Thanks again.

1200 Cab - Original?
I’ve come into possession of a 1200 with a Victor cab. I’m not entirely a fan of the cab and given the chance, I’d like to remove it. Is there any way of knowing If the cab was fitted to the tractor when new at the factory i.e. is part of the tractor’s provenance and should remain, or was it perhaps...

Re: 880 Selectamatic Possible Overheat
Update (and thank you very much for all your help). I removed the temperature gauge (manufactured by AC) from my 770 and fitted it to the 880. This gauge had a terminal for earth so I connected it to the chassis (strangely the previous gauge didn't have this option). I've just done two hours' of gra...

Re: 880 Selectamatic Dynamo
Hello all,
I'm now looking at this issue again, and am now convinced that the dynamo's faulty. I bridged the D and F terminals and measured the output at D to be 0.4v
This dynamo is a Prestolite.
Thank you.

Re: 880 Selectamatic Possible Overheat
Thanks for your replies. I did the test again from cold (well, it's been an hour or two since I last did the test, so from lukewarm). I took the block and head readings from the n/s. After 10 mins at 800rpm; gauge pointer is in 'Hot'; top hose is 30 deg C, bottom hose is 20 deg, block is 55-60 deg a...

880 Selectamatic Possible Overheat
The newly-fitted temperature gauge to this tractor is showing that the tractor is getting hot in a short space of time. I noticed it when harrowing - I'd barely done two rows and the needle was in 'Hot'. I've fitted a brand new thermostat, but the problem continues. The gauge needle shoots to 'Hot' ...

880 Selectamatic Push-Pull Fuel Tap Seal
Does anyone know the process for renewing the seal on the push-pull fuel tap? I have the cork seals ready; is it a fiddly job?
Many thanks

Wear in 880 Selectamatic Linkage
As Spring approaches, my mind turns to doing a few jobs to the 880 and I've remembered about a particular problem in the linkage. At the tractor end of the link arms there's a pin that connects the arm to the chassis, and the receiving hole in the chassis has worn significantly and therefore there's...

Re: 880 Selectamatic Dynamo
Thanks for your reply. When the tractor passes 1300RPM the charging light extinguishes. As soon as the tractor returns to 1300RPM the light comes on again.
This new dynamo is labelled as 11amp. Does this sound correct for the tractor?

Re: 880 Selectamatic Dynamo
Just to keep you updated, I bought a brand new dynamo and regulator, polarised the dynamo, and fitted them both, but the charging light still won’t extinguish until 1300RPM. I removed an original dynamo from a 770, fitted it to the 880 and all was well. I removed that, re-fitted the new dynamo and t...
