30D injector washers?

Hi, I'm just giving my 30d a once over before a road run on the weekend, it has always been quite smoky and I have just dropped the injectors out a see they have washers on them but the injector sleeves are brass? Should it have washers or not? Cheers

Re: 885 retard screw

Hi, I have had the 3 cylinders wear out the circlip on the Injector pump drive gear, it slips down and moves the timing a few degrees. To check you will have to remove the injector pump.

Valves

Hi, I am replacing the valves on my 1394s head but I have conflicting information on which valve goes where, 4 have small dimples on the end and 4 have larger dimples. I presume the exhaust valves are made of a more heat resistant material?

Re: Drawbar

Hi, the tractor has 9998hrs on the clock, most must of been pulling something. Finding a better one is proving a challenge. It also has a home made top tongue which is quite weak.

Drawbar

Hi, anyone attempted to build up a worn drawbar tongue before? What would be the best to do it with? Cheers

Re: 94' series 4wd components the same?

Hi Geoff, the 1410,12 has the same box as a 1394/1494 but the diff and rear axle housings and reductions are 15/16 size. 7/43 diff ratios are in the 1494 and down and the 8/41 are for 1410 up.

Re: 94' series 4wd components the same?

Hi, you will need the transmission or part of it as the diff pinion on a 2wd won't have a spline on the end for the 4wd gear.

Re: Beware 1412 exhaust on ebay

The turbo won't like that sort of back pressure for to long. I just use a suitable sized bit of pipe and break the washer out from the centre. Shouldn't have to do it on a new pipe though!!

Re: Timing Gears

After removing the injector pump gear I found at some point someone had fitted a bolt that was to long holding the power steering pump on and this was pushing into the rear of the injector pump gear, hopefully good for another 50 years now!

Re: Timing Gears

I'm just replacing a set on a 990 with a ad4/47 engine with power steering pump aswell. Apparently hard to come by the power steering drive gear. But my wrecker supplied all I needed. Anyone know why they fail unexpectedly?

Re: 990 gearbox

Hi, I have a similar problem on a couple of my DBS, it's more like worn selector gates and when I change from 1or R to 2 or 3 the 1 and R selector rail doesn't quite return to neutral which stops the 2 and 3 selector moving. Hope this makes sense!

Re: New radiator

Hi, I fitted a replacement radiator on my 1394 from sparex, but it gets hot when working hard, so I looked in the filler hole at the cores and the center row had half the cores missing compared with the old radiator! So beware
