I am not a 100 percent sure.-But from earlier experience it feels/sounds like the rpm is not as high as it's supposed to be.. I might have to get one of those portable tacho meters..
Thanks for your input!

Rated rpm problem ?
Hello all, long time since I'v been on this forum.I have lately been trying to figure out a problem with a Case IH 485. It is not a DB, I know, but I know there is alot of knowledge in this forum. -So I dare to ask. The problem is that the engine does not reach the rated rpm, 2200, even if I pull th...

RE: Non DB Question ?
Ok.. -So if I'm not mistaken the conclusion is: Some models didn't have any lock/latch and some had a crappy one? I guess my best bet is to "home-brew" a solution that can work. Beacause my goal is to keep cats, dogs and kids on the out side.. he he  By the way what is, the usual IH steering p...

RE: Non DB Question ?
Hi again case-ih1594, From what I have figured out. There is a handle (like the one in the picture) to provide leverage when closing the window. The smaller window will hinge from the bottom of the large, towards the cab. Angle will be slightly downward towards the cab. The "cab end" of the smaller ...

RE: Non DB Question ?
Yes, I think that is the right type. I have got hold of a frame looking like this one. Mine has a hinge for a lower window that angles towards the cab. I guess the handle one the picture is just for pulling the window shut? The lower window has holes that i guess is for some sort of locking device, ...

Non DB Question ?
Hello all, Have tried to ask this question in other forums, but no replies. -So I try asking here, and hope someone might be able to help.. I wonder if anyone can provide a drawing or picture of the locking arrangement on the rear window of an L-cab fitted to the Case IH 485, 1987 ? Most likely the ...

RE: 1210 hydraulics
If your pressures and plumbing checks out ok:
You might consider installing a regenerative valve on the log splitter. It will increase the speed of the ram, going out.
I have done this and it worked ok for me.

Ok. It was not my intention to have a discussion. Was just seeking information and advice, and getting a second opinion on this matter..

RE: Transmission oil ?
No, you did not! But after reading this, I became in doubt:

But then I just go ahead and use the API GL-4/5 that I found. Only diffence is that this one is SAE 75W-90, but that might be ok for my purpose...?

RE: Transmission oil ?
It seems like it's going to be a problem to get API GL-4. Most oils are GL-5 or GL-4/GL-5..
The only type I have found is EP SAE 90 API GL-4. This is an oil for outboard gears. Is it usable for my purpose ??
