Early type Cropmaster with a gear driven 6volt dynamo and starter motor. Is the regulator mounted on the dynamo ? For this battery charging system a six volt battery is required. New later type regulators that are mounted elsewhere are available from davibbrownparts.com

Do not slacken or adjust the nuts on the spool valve. The adjustment setting is critical.

The crank size is 2.500”. David Brown Parts have the seal but not showing on their website. Without actually seeing the seals you have I can’t tell you which you have. The new seals have to be pressed in but attempting to fit the larger set will result in breaking the retainer. The seals are not an ...

There are two sizes of rope seals , the one you require for a 1200 is the smaller one. www.davidbrownparts.com will have the correct one.
Fit the new seal as explained in the DB workshop manual, this is essential.

Remove the cover plate from the side of the fuel pump and spray release oil onto the rack above the springs. Work the rack by operating the stop lever. Hold the cold start button in and do this repeatedly until the rack is free.

The information regarding the steering box oil level is incorrect. The steering box does not have an oil reservoir. Originally there were no greasing points on the steering box
but these may have been added retrospectively.

There is no facility on the fuel pump for a solenoid. I have seen this arrangement on commercial vehicles but not on a DB

They were the main distributors for the whole of Wales for David Brown Tractors and Austin cars. Quite a large thriving enterprise in its day.

The stub axles and all steering moving parts are greased on 25/30 tractors. Oil lubrication came in on the later tractors

The tractor was supplied by The Automobile Palace the DB distributor for Wales. I am not certain how many they sold, probably less than five.
