Yes it's a "bottle opener" (I'd never heard of that before).

There are two small holes in the right-hand tank bracket which is where I guess the bracket bolts on.

Does anyone know where I can get one of these brackets or could I fabricate one?

Hi,
My '72 885 must be one of the last in Brown, the decals don't have Case anywhere and there is no hole in the dash.
Thanks

RE: 885 Front loader removal

I have a 48" hi-lift jack, but was wondering what design people might have for stands or anything. Do you just lower the boom onto the floor?

885 Front loader removal

Yesterday I finally fitted the front loader to my 885 after months of rebuilding gear-boexes, final drives and hydraulics. Now the loader is fitted, I want to take it off again, it took two of us and an engine hoist to fit it first time, does anyone have nay hints on how to get the loader on and off...

885 hydraulic control block removal

Hi folks, I'm trying to remove the hydraulic control valve block from my 885. I have it all out on the floor, but cannot remove the actual valve control block from the RR bracket. The books says "unbolt", well I removed two nuts, is that it? It still seems very tight? The book says "it may stick on ...

885 Rear axle oil seals

Having rebuilt my final drives, I now need to replace the oil seals in the ends of the axle. They are held in place by a metal plate, which is an interference fit into the axle. I guess I need to make a puller of some sort as the plate has two threaded holes, but I'm not sure what the thread size is...

I have assembled my first final drive, but I'm a little worried... I assembled the stub axle and tightened the nut. The manual then says to tighten down the outer cover with 3 bolts and measure the gap to the inner housing, then fit shims to 0.005 less than the gap. When I tightened the 3 bolts on t...

I managed to drive the pinion shaft off the drum with some heat and a big hammer. Not the ideal solution I guess, but it worked for me. Another tip I was given is to heat the drum before refitting and use an air line to cool it before the oil seal is damaged. Whilst on the subject of oil seals, wher...

Yeah I turned it all on it's side and tried to cool the shaft with a wet rag.
