1200/10 grille guard

Just acquired a slightly bent 1200 series grille guard to fit my 1210s'. It is of a different design to my 885 and 990 grille guards in that the 8 & 9 series guards are designed to drop down (open) giving access to the battery/air filter and can be braised open with the angle stay bars to carry weig...

RE: not turning over

The right hand warning light should be a red light which is the battery charging light from the dynamo/alternator. The middle light should be green. The Low oil pressure warning light. The left light should be amber which if stays on signals that the hydraulic filter is blocked. This is from a sucti...

It is possible to remove the transmission without splitting. But I recommend that you get a manual for your questions.

RE: Starting problem. Help

Is the battery big enough or is it getting old? There is a good video on utube on battery testing. Checking each individual cell with a volt meter. If the battery is dying after a few cranks, sounds tired.

RE: just bought a cropmaster

There is a decent looking under valued DB 2 furrow plough on E-bay at moment, look nice nice on your new Cropmaster. They are asking £275.

RE: Ditcher / Digger / Loader.

Interesting point that Erkki, " so the tractor is more or less just a ballast laying on the sub frame ". Makes sense, quite obvious once pointed out. Probably explains why there seems to be a love / hate reputation for the DDL because I am aware that operators have, and do adapt them to work off the...

RE: Ditcher / Digger / Loader.

All the DB diggers I have seen so far have a four point mounting system for the frame that bolts to the engine/front loader casting and rear lower arms pin holes. There are also 2 more short frames that run from the bottom arm pins up to the digger main frame. I have heard of operators using the dig...

RE: 885 poor starting

Go through all the earthing. Clean the starter motor bolting face to the block with wire wool and clean engine oil, get it shinning. Then put a fresh clean earth cable from the battery to the chassis. See if this improves the starter motors performance when turning the engine over, should be fast an...

Ditcher / Digger / Loader.

Has anyone a hand book for the above? Also, what is the difference between a MK1 & a Mk2 ? As in the title 'loader' , obviously the muck grab, how much can one lift in term of weight or the capacity of the large grab bucket ?

Regards.

The early castings held water that could freeze and crack the casting, as a result some earlier tractors had newer castings fitted which could throw things a bit, I had one. One thing that I have learnt playing with motors is that you can never be too sure of their service history, where it has been...

RE: Will not start when engine is cold..

I reckon that the timing is out. It can be difficult to install the Fuel Injection Pump drive train correctly on the 3 cylinder engine which you must have to strip down and then rebuild if the crank has been out. I recommend removing the FIP and really study the timing diagram re-fitting procedure.

RE: 770a hydraulic problems

Sounds like the typical problem with an old DB that has not had the gearbox oil changed or looked after. Many postings on this site refer to your problem. Ideally you do need a hand book or manual. However , ther hydraulics use the gearbox oil which is a universal 20/50 or 15/40 or a straight 30w fo...
