Yellow 900
Did any 900s leave the factory in yellow paint? I picked one up recently at auction sold as a "DB 900 industrial". It has red primer base coat, then fairly intact yellow enamel, with a poor top coat of spray can red. Wheels are orchid white or close to it. Any thoughts? AD4//30J, 905, J900D, 50869 1...

Have you tried it, or just postulating? 4BTs and 354 Perkins engines live in other DBs. The tape measure says it is awfully close.

4/47 into a 900
Anyone done it? Will it bolt in? I have a 900 that is just plain worn out. Parts are like looking for hens teeth in the US for the 4/40. 4/47 parts are generally available, and I have a donor engine I can rebuild.

Anyone with a lathe and drill press can make a pivot pin, certainly cheaper than what it would be from Case.

The oil line is 1/8 BSP versus 1/8" NPT that is common here. The BSP is 28 tpi, NPT is 27. Sometimes you can get a NPT to seal in a BSP hole, sometimes you strip the fitting or it leaks. Adapters are available, I have also run a 1/8 NPT tap into the hole in the block to allow it to take a standard f...

Winter diesel AKA #1 fuel is kerosene, or a blend of diesel/kerosene depending on where you are.
I keep a 5 gallon can of Kerosene in my heated shop as a rescue item if I gel one up on an exceptionally cold day.

I had a 3800. Knocked it over the head for parts. Some are very hard to find.

RE: 1210 clutch housing
did you pop out the wedge at the rear of the cover? It is clamped in by 4 horizontal bolts that are in the little holes under the steering box. Bolt by oil filter? Starter bolts? I still like to look at a clutch while the cover is off to make sure everything is happening the way I want. For a clutch...

Re: RE: Problem with case 1494
A stuck latching valve will cause it to lift constantly A friend of mine had this problem on a 780 and more recently a 770 But with a tandem pump you are diverting all the oil away from the selectamatic when combined. I plowed a few acres this way while playing with mine and figuring out exactly wh...

I have had this issue with my 1494. The "latching valve" inside the selectamatic control valve was stuck.

The 770 from the clutch back was its own animal.
A 780 is more or less an 880 back end and engine with the 770 front frame and front axle

RE: Starting problem. Help
Probably dirty connections on the cables at the starter. disconnect battery, unbolt wires at starter clean all connection surfaces with emory cloth or a file and reassemble. Clean battery terminals too. Other option is you let the magic smoke out of the starter. You can buy replacement Lucas smoke, ...
