I don't get it. Isn't BS 10B15 supposed to be a British Standard paint colour code? Searching the interweb I can find 10B15 as 'Gardenia' and it is a rather creamy colour. Has the standard changed over the years? Did David Brown Tractors mix their own paint or did they purchase it premixed from a su...

Levelling box problem

Hi.
Was using the 880 Selectamatic the other day to mow a couple of paddocks and noticed that each time I lowered/raised the 3PL that the handle on the levelling box unwound approx 1/4 turn. Is this a common problem and how can it be fixed?

Ok... just had a closer look at the DTBC DVDs in the shop. Is it Vol #2 that includes "switch to selectamatic' archive footage?

RE: Explained Hydraulics Please.....Newbie

As an after thought... has anyone recorded a video of the proper usage of DB hydraulics? Using different implements like: plough, cultivator, FEL, jib, tipping trailer, log splitter, etc. Could be a handy campanion for the 'Service Day' DVD. A picture tells a thousands words...but a movie tells the ...

RE: 880A Front Weight Frame

Thanks for the info cambs.

I'm also missing the round bar in the diagram. CaseIH website shows it as a 'spacer bar'. Not sure what it's for or how it fits?

880A Front Weight Frame

I recently purchased a front weight frame for my 880 Selectamatic, however it is missing the stirrup bar that holds the ulower rear part of the weights. I intend to fabricate one to suit and would like to keep it as accurate as possible to original specs. Can anyone help with dimensions for upright ...

Hi gents. An interesting topic. Out of interest, how much paint is enough to do a whole machine, say for the 780?

The 780 looks a treat.
You mention that you used a pressure washer for the sandblasting. How is this achieved? How do you get the high pressure water to mix with the sand? Do you use the same sand as sandblasting with compressed air?

An interesting question. According to the David Brown Instruction Books for 780 & 880 it details 8 different combinations for various orientations of wheel centre, rim and lugs. Why would David Brown publish this if it was not advisable to do so??? Here's a snippet from the 850/880/990 Drivers Guide...

I think I've seen a youtube clip of this machine. When/where will the 40 TD be on show again? I'd like to see it for real?

Congrats on the victory.

Unfortunately I could not attend due to work commitments. Are there any online articles or photos of the event? Also, when and where will the next championship be held?

Cheers

RE: 880 selectamatic identification/registration plates

Checked the DBTC shop, 'Miscellaneous' section to get an idea of what a VIN plate looks like. There's nothing like trying to find something and not know what to look out for.

RE: 880 selectamatic identification/registration plates

The VIN plate is normally rivetted to the LHS fender and is clearly visible. I have seen a few in Aus that were mounted on the RHS of the main chassis below the fuel tank and on the rare occasion can be found reclining in the toolbox. Failing that you should be able to find the tractor serial number...
