RE: Cromaster Diesel EP140 Gear Oil
The gearbox is grand - just the straight cut gear noise I want to lower!

Cromaster Diesel EP140 Gear Oil
Hi, Is it ok to put EP140 oil in the gearbox of my 1952 Cropmaster Diesel to quieten it down? Some of the serial plates I have on other early DBs recommend 140 for tGe spur reductions only, but the new serial plate on the Cropmaster states that 140 is ok for the entire transmission. Has anybody any ...

What's all this about sheds? You wouldn't leave a concours tractor in a damp old shed. God, an air conditioned tiled garage at the very least!!! Although the cropmaster had never ventured into a field since restoration, I regularly use my ferguson with a mowbar...only the top link connection gets ma...

Good model makers but artistic flair missing - the grille is completely wrong and would have been so easy to make correctly, also the scuttle is entirely the wrong shape. Wait until you see - UH will bring out a perfect 1:16 cropmaster diesel for a £40!! It won't be as unique or as valuable as a g&...

Here is a cannister type filter similar to that of the 950, but where the cannister screws directly into the block as opposed to into a housing which screws onto the block. Which of the Implematic models were fitted with this type of engine? Also, did the series II DB 900 have the horizontal 'David ...

Hi guys, What are the key features that distinguish a Mk1 900 from a Mk2? My 900 has an ususual steering arrangement with the radius arm linking a ridiculously complicated assembly in the middle of the tractor to the steering box drop arm. What were they thinking with this steering mechanism at all?...

I have a couple of tractors in concours condition, and in my opionion, a concours tractor should meet the following criteria: (i) An excellent paint finish, and for that, the tractor must be cleaned down and prepared properly, with every spec of rust and dirt removed. The paint used should be two-pa...

RE: Petrol /TVO/ kerosene -who uses what?
Hi, I've heard people on this forum saying that the tractors should be run on pure kerosene (after being turned over from petrol) - hence VAK (Vehicle Agricultural Kerosene). I ran the VAK1C I used to have on tvo - paraffin, petrol, diesel and a small drop of two-stroke oil. But to be honest, it nev...
