VAK1 (1939-1945)

The VAK 1 was the first tractor completely designed and built by David Brown. It developed 35 bhp at 2000 rev/min from a 4-cylinder water cooled petrol (gasoline) or petrol/TVO (gasoline/kerosine) engine. There were 4 forward and 1 reverse gears and the specification included independent hand brakes, power lift and 1 3/8 in (35mm) diameter PTO shaft.

The track was adjustable by dished wheel centers (a David Brown patent) and implement depth was controlled by a patented depth (gauge) wheel system. A "streamlined" bonnet (hood) and windshield gave the tractor clean and functional lines
