The DBTC Ltd held the annual AGM after the Sunday opening day in the Museum at Spinksmire Mill in Meltham. There were members of the Committee in attendance as well as over a dozen DBTC Members to support the voting and decision making. There were no Directors in attendance.
The Chairman, Mr Neil Singleton read out a full report covering the DBTC past years work and events thanking all who had supported the Club. Mr Singleton remains as Chairman.
The Vice Chairman, Mr Peter Murray has decided to step down from his role and wants to keep a more low profile role within the Club in an advisory capacity. Mr Murray is a long term member and supporter of the DBTC and we thank him for all his past work. The new Vice Chairman is Mr Darrell Clegg who has volunteeered to take over from Mr Murray.
The finances , profit & loss statement was read out by the Chair in the Treasurers abscence.
The Secretary, Mr Robert Walker gave his report on the past years work in that a Committee Sructure has now been created giving clear roles and responsibilities for Committee Members. This is to give smooth running of the Club, prevent 'fire-fighting' and to plan ahead.
The Memberhip Secretary, Mr John Torley gave his report regarding membership numbers, funds raised through membership and GDPR (Data Protection). The position of Membership Secretary has now been made into Officer of the Club due to the responsibilities involved with the work.
The Shop Manager, Mr James Firth submitted his report regarding the progress of the Club Shop and supply of memoribilia and parts.
All other Committee Members roles and positions were read out by the Chairman and voted back in to their respective roles.
A new role of Health & Safety Officer has been created following sound advice. At the moment there is no person in the role but a healthy debate, Q&A session did proceed regarding Risk Assessment from the Members present. The role is now open and we are looking for a candidate to fill the position. Already there are prespective candidates from the attendees.
The DBTC now has Six Officers to run the Committee and events.
Committee Member roles are now Appointments where by the person in role takes responsibility for the operation of the work involved.
Objectives of the DBTC now to include 'maintain and operate a museum'.
New rules and disciplinary proceedure, membership renewal period, voting rights and proxy voting rules as produced by the DBTC Solicitor were read out.
There were questions raised about some of the new rules which the Secretary will address with the Club Officers and Solicitor. All to be introduced into the new DBTC Rule Book. (The last rule book dates to 2012).
New Directors were voted in to position. These are Mr Guy Hafenden, Mr Gareth Alexandar and Mr Graham Goodwin. The role of the Directors is to oversee the work of the Committee.
The DBTC now has five Directors and we thank them for there voluntary work.
The new DBTC Rule Book will now be written up and produced, made available to all DBTC Members.
All above to be minuted and agreed by those in attendance for next years AGM.
The DBTC Museum is well worth a visit to see the club’s growing collection of tractors, machinery, memorabilia and archive material. Take the opportunity to peruse the Club Shop, simply ask advice or just talk to like-minded David Brown tractor enthusiasts.
